Wellington

Paper4trees was first introduced to the Wellington Region in 2007.

Since then, a total of
493 schools and preschools have joined Paper4trees!
That is the equivalent to
93% of all Wellington schools and 63% of all Wellington preschools.

Between 2007 and 2018, Wellington schools and preschools have:

  • Diverted 5,651 tonnes of paper and cardboard from landfill
                 - That's around the same as 1,207 elephants!

  • Saved 45,211 cubic metres of landfill space

  • Prevented 30,067 tonnes of carbon dioxide from being created in landfill

Isn't this an amazing effort? We think so, which is why we have rewarded Wellington schools and preschools with a total of...

22,324 native trees! to plant in their school grounds or within their local community.
