Paper4trees was first introduced to the Wellington Region in 2007.

Since then, a total of 503 schools and preschools have joined Paper4trees!
That is the equivalent to 90% of all Wellington schools and 68% of all Wellington preschools.
 

Between 2007 and 2025, Wellington schools and preschools have:

• Diverted 8,040 tonnes of paper and cardboard from landfill
               - That's around the same as 1,717 elephants!

• Saved 64,320 cubic metres of landfill space

• Prevented 42,966 tonnes of carbon dioxide from being created in landfill
