Paper4trees was first introduced to the Southland Region in 2010.

Since then, a total of 138 schools and preschools have joined Paper4trees!
That is the equivalent to 64% of all Southland Region schools and 61% of all Southland Region preschools.
 

Between 2009 and 2022, Southland Region schools and preschools have:

• Diverted 1,446 tonnes of paper and cardboard from landfill
               - That's around the same as 309 elephants!

• Saved 11,574 cubic metres of landfill space

• Prevented 7,812 tonnes of carbon dioxide from being created in landfill
