Manawatū-Whanganui

Paper4trees was first introduced to the Manawatū-Whanganui Region in 2007.

Since then, a total of
279 schools and preschools have joined Paper4trees!
That is the equivalent to
86% of all Manawatū-Whanganui schools and 45% of all Manaw
atū-Whanganui preschools.

Between 2007 and 2025, Manawatū-Whanganui schools and preschools have:

  • Diverted 9,750 tonnes of paper and cardboard from landfill
                 - That's around the same as 2,083 elephants!

  • Saved 78,010 cubic metres of landfill space

  • Prevented 52,056 tonnes of carbon dioxide from being created in landfill

Isn't this an amazing effort? We think so, which is why we have rewarded Manawatū-Whanganui schools and preschools with a total of...

40,309 native trees! to plant in their school grounds or within their local community.
