Bay of Plenty

Paper4trees was first introduced to the Bay of Plenty Region in 2001.

Since then, a total of 334 schools and preschools have joined Paper4trees!

That is the equivalent to 92% of all BOP schools and 52% of all BOP preschools.

Between 2001 and 2015, Bay of Plenty schools and preschools have:

  • Diverted 6,753 tonnes of paper and cardboard from landfill
                 - That's around the same as 1,126 elephants!
  • Saved 54,020 cubic metres of landfill space
  • Prevented 36,464 tonnes of carbon dioxide from being created in landfill

Isn't this an amazing effort? We think so, which is why we have rewarded BOP schools and preschools with a total of...

27,104 native trees! to plant in their school grounds or within their local community.
