Paper4trees in Action

Did you know...

That 90% of all NZ schools and 48% of all NZ preschools are participating in Paper4trees?
These schools and preschools are spread throughout all regions and districts across NZ, from Kaitaia to Stewart Island.
Over 4000 schools and early childhood centres are actively recycling their paper and cardboard with us!

Why are there less preschools than schools? Originally, we thought this was a programme better suited to schools. So we concentrated on introducing Paper4trees to schools only. This mindset changed as we had a huge number of preschools, kindergartens, early childhood centers and kohanga reo contacting us wanting to join.

What will you find under each regional page to the left?

  • Annual reports
  • Image galleries full of photos from planting days
  • Paper4trees facts and stats

What have we accomplished so far?

Between 2001 - 2015, Kiwi kids have:
  • Recycled over 50,000 tonnes of paper and cardboard
  • Saved over 403,000 cubic metres of landfill space
  • Prevented over 272,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide from being produced in landfills
  • Earned over 200,000 native trees
